Stamping in my PJ's!

Love you berry much

When I got home yesterday from work, I had a nice little treat on my door step . . .  a box from Papertrey Ink.  I couldn't wait to dig into it but Hayden had other plans!  We have had a solid week of  cold weather and rain here in Houston . . . translation . . .  no outside time all week at school for the kiddos!  Needless to say by Friday, Hayden was bouncing off the walls!  I put him to bed around  8 thinking I would get a little play time in for myself.  Wrong!  What was I thinking, right?  Finally around 11 he passed out but by then, I was too tired to do anything and passed out myself.  So, here I am playing with my new goodies tonight!

While out shopping today, I picked up a few boxes of Necco Sweethearts.  My favorite!  I started tinkering around with a box idea and came up with this.  The instructions (or constructions as Hayden tells me) are here . . . Download pull_box.pdf.

I used bazzill cardstock, My Punny Valentine from Papertrey, Nestabilities, eyeletts and a ball chain to tie off the tag.  The printed cardstock is from the Maybe Baby colletion from Daisyd's.

Sprinkle a little thanks . . .

Well, no stamping last night . . . had to catch my weekly dose of Nip/Tuck.  I don't watch much TV but I do love a juicy Nip/Tuck episode!   

Anyway, tonight I decided to pull out some old ribbon and stamps.  The ribbon is some I bought probably about 4 years ago and Sprinkle is from The Cats Pajamas.  I bought her probably almost 2 years ago.  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.  I used vanilla bazzill for the card base.  How 'bout those eyes and collar . . .you like?

I really need to do some serious stamp shopping!  I am wanting to make Valentine's card right now but I'm really lacking in the stamp department.  I did, however, place an order with Stamping Bella last night.  I'm a LONG ways from Canada so I'll have to be patient! 

Anyhoo, this is what I came up with using my limited supplies.  The cardstock is Vanilla Bazzill embossed with my Nestabilities.  The little envelope is a 2 x 2 clear envelope that came in a package of 65 from Michael's.  I filled it with little punched hearts in various Bazzill colors, and the sentiment is from  . . . actually, let me get with on that one.  It's a clear set that I bought from Archiver's last year and I can't remember the name.   On the envelope, I used a little piece of foam tape between the bag and the cardstock insert .  This helps the little hearts move around in the bag a little.   Well, I think I might cruise on over to Paper Trey Inc. since I'm on a stamp purchasing mission!

Blog Candy

I love a cool find!

 I HAVE to share this with you guys!  As you know, I am addicted to those little bauble / dew drops . . . love 'em, love 'em, love 'em!

Anyway, while running errands yesterday, I ran into Michael's to pick up ONE thing.  Well, as I was working my way back to my ONE item I went in for, I stumbled across this little beauties.  They are called Decorative Accents and the picture on the bag shows them  being used in a container with candles.  When I first saw them from a slight distance, I thought, "No way!  Are you kidding me?"  I immediately ran over to them, inspected the bag and couldn't believe it . . . baubles, LOTS of baubles . . . 5oz bags of baubles to be exact.  I bought blue, clear and peridot (yellowish green).    They had a real pretty raspberry color but I already have that color.  Each bag was only $3.99.   Talk about a bargain!  Now I don't have to be chinchy when using them.

The pink bag is my Bella Baubles and the other colors are the baubles from Michael's.  Not a lot of difference, huh?!  The Michael's baubles are slightly bigger.

I only have eyes for you . . .

Cute, cute, cute !  This little candy box idea came from my friend Sonja over at Sonja's Scene.  As soon as I saw it on her blog, I knew I had to make one.  For some reason when I was playing around with it tonight, I kept seeing little eyes peeking out of the box.  My first attempt was made with cardstock . . . cute but you couldn't really see the eyes.  All of a sudden a little light bulb went off!  I'll make it out of acetate!  And, that I did!  For the template, hop on over to Sonja's blog by clicking on the link above. 

For my version, I covered my York Peppermint Patties with white 1.5" circles and cut 1 green 1.5" circle, cutting it in half for eyelids.  The black circles are 3/4" and the white circles are 3/8".  I stamped the sentiment on the acetate with my white StazOn.  The little froggy set is from TAC.  I stamped the frog on a 2" circle punched from frosted Shrinky Dinks, hole punched it and shrunk it.  I inserted an eyelet in the top flap and tied everything off.

A Bella Celebration

Before I get into stampin' chit chat, I just have to say thank you to everyone who has visited my blog, posted comments and subscribed to it.   I am lucky enough to work very close to home, so I usually come home everyday to eat.  Well, now I am finding myself checking my blog and reading emails on my lunch hour!  I'm addicted to my blog!  You guys are awesome and I hope you keep visiting.  I will be posting some blog candy in the very near future!

Okay, let's talk BELLAS!  I can't seem to get enough, can you?   This little bella is Cuppacakeabella.  Isn't she adorable?  I actually made several versions of her and was the happiest with the pink and brown combination.  I need to play a little more with my color combinations.  One of my resolutions this year is to use more patterned paper.  For some reason, I am very unsure of myself when I use it.  I guess I'm a simple kinda girl and I always end up second guessing my projects when I use it.  If I use patterned paper, I use very little of it or I use it on more 3D objects instead of cards.  I have tons of it that is begging to be used, so that's my resolution this year!

M&M goodie box

If you've done a lot of blog hoppin' lately, you've probably noticed all the cute candy containers being made, especially with Valentine's Day just around the corner.  I had a couple of inspirations when designing this little box.  The 2-4-6-8 inspired me but also famfullmers' post on SCS . . . she's got a really cute blog too Stamp-a-licious.  She posted the most adorable acetate box for Christmas.  I wanted my box a little smaller than the 2-4-6-8 box so I changed it to be 1.5 in. square vs 2 in. square.  Basically I have made a square tube . . . there is no bottom or top.  Since I wanted to make my top and bottom from cardstock, I did not add the dimensions to the acetate for the bottom and top.  When I first started making this little box, I had all intentions of stamping the little tag but as I got into it, nothing was working for me.  I started digging through my embellishment box and came across these little pewter heart charms that I bought a year and a half ago at the Archiver's in Kansas City.  I knew I'd find a use for them!  Anyway, I pulled out the Cricut and cut scalloped squares for the top of my lid.  I hole punched the center and added an eyelet . . . had to drag out the ol' eyelet setter and hammer for this one . . . the Crop-A-Dile wasn't deep enough to reach the center.  While rummaging through my stash of goodies, I came across this really cute rick rack ribbon, so I trimmed the sides of my top and  bottom with it.  I do believe I am pleased with my little box!  Download mm_acetate_box.pdf  

Heather's Monday card sketch #7

I hope everyone had a nice, safe new year.  William and I did what we do every year . . . stay home!  I'm not much for dodging bad drivers on new year's eve.  We have more fun staying at home.  This year we bought fireworks for Hayden.  I think we were finished shooting fireworks by 9 p.m. and had Hayden in bed shortly thereafter.  I spent the remainder of the evening stamping while hubby played Guitar Hero on Xbox . . . exciting couple, aren't we?

Anyhoo . . . I really wasn't sure what I wanted to create so I started my usual blog hoppin'.  While blog hoppin' I came across Heather Scott's Monday card sketch.  Her version was so cute and inspiring, I decided to give it a try and this what I came up with.

Quite simple really.  I used my monochromatic bazzill browns and the He said she said set from TAC along with the Mimi paper collection also from TAC.  I sponged the edges with Palette Burnt Umber and added a few brads.  A cute card that took no time at all!
