Stamping in my PJ's!

Becky who?

Or at least that's how I feel!  I think it's been over a month since my last post.  I have been preoccupied with my new position at work and it has taken its toll on me.  I'm just now getting to where I can sleep at night and not dream about work!  Nothing is more tiring than the stress of learning a new job and then coming home and dreaming about it!  Not only has it been tiring for me but my creativity has suffered because of it.  I've been too tired to be creative!  Now that's bad!

Anyway, I decided to get back into the swing of things tonight.  One of the last things I wanted to make before I got in this creative funk was Jen del Muro's mini pizza box.  I made a set of little note cards to put in it as a gift for a friend of mine.  I used the little penguin stamps from Snag'em Stamps along with the matching paper.  I colored them in using my copic markers and embellished with my bella baubles.  Quick and simple and hopefully on my way out of this creative funk!

It's a piece of cake!!

I think my Nestabilities have been the best investment I've made!  They are so easy to use and are incredibly versatile!  Last night I was browsing my favorite blogs and decided to give Lauren Meader's Nestability basket a try.  What a cute idea, Lauren. TFS.  Anyway, while assembling my basket, I was inspired to make a piece of cake.  After I completed my basket, I threw together a quick prototype to see if my idea would work.  Tonight I put it together for real and this is what I ended up with.  I used the large scalloped rectangle Nestabilites, cutting and embossing 3 to make the cake.  I'll post more detailed instructions later in the week.  I used some of my Basic Grey paper, ribbon and a Hero's Arts stamp set called Birthday Messages.  The back of the cake is cut out of a piece of brown Basic Grey paper that came in the package.  It kind of gives it a chocolate frosting feel, and I used pink for the sides.  I filled my piece of cake with strawberry milkshake flavored Whoppers and chocolate Whoppers . . . a few managed to make it into my mouth!  YUM!

Valentine Treats

Okay, now to the yummy stuff.  Here are a few more goodies I made last weekend while I was in San Antonio. 

The bag of Bugles is just a long clear envelope sealed and tied off at the top.  The tag is made with one of the new Valentine sets from TAC called Forever.  I used my Nestabilities to make the tag and matted it with red bazzill cardstock.  I tied red polka dot grosgrain ribbon around the top of the bag.  The treats inside are just Bugle chips dipped in white chocolate and then sugar sprinkles.  It's the perfect combination of sweet and salty.  Yum!

The strawberry card was made with the My Punny Valentine set from Papertrey Ink.  I used Versamagic in on vanilla bazzill and I used my Scor-Pal to make the lattes background.

The bag is just a little sack from Target that came in a package.  I created a flap using red bazzill and my Nestabilities.  The stamp set if from Hero Arts and is an exclusive set for Archiver's.

Hey Cookie, Be Mine!

I love this idea!!  This little project was one that my friend Stephany made at TAG (Texas Angel Gathering) earlier this year in San Antonio.   It's a cookie bag made from a CD envelope.  For my version of her creation I cut a piece of red cardstock and lined the inside of the envelope to add a little color and sturdiness.  I stamped the outside of the envelope with three different stamp sets . . . Clearly Archivers A kind Heart by Hero Arts, Amore Brackets by Perfectly Clear Stamps and a little set of 3 stamps I purchased at Hobby Lobby.  I used Palette ink in L'Amore Red, hole punched the top of the bag and tied a piece of red polka dotted ribbon.   I bought the cookies at WalMart.  They are a frosted sugar cookie.  They kind of remind me of heart shaped meringues.

Miniature Love

Okay, we all love stuff in miniature, do we not?   I was doing my usual blog browsing last night and came across Jody's Confessions of a Ribbon Addict blog.  She was kind enough to share her latest discovery at Michael's along with a finished product.  I couldn't resist and had to buy a box of them.  Like she states on her blog, they can be found in the wedding favor section and yes, they are on sale for $16.99.  You get 20 jars in a box.  Check out her blog to see the size comparison she did with a quarter and her adorable finished project.  Thanks for sharing, Jody.

San Antonio goodies!

I apologize for taking so long to post.  My trip to San Antonio was a blast.  Stephany and I stamped until 4 a.m.!  The only bad thing with that was that I had to be up and on the road by 10 a.m. to make my trip back to Houston.  I am just now recovering from loads of stamping and lack of sleep!

We both wanted to try the z becky brown clearly creative purse from Papertrey Ink.  Talk about simple and fun!   I used a scrap piece of paper for the insert so I don't know who makes this paper, so if anyone knows, please feel free to post.  It's double -sided and is a current release.  I used my Nestabilities for the little tag and the Trajan Monogram Edition set along with the Borders and Corners Oval set, all from Papertrey Ink.

Next up, while blog hoppin' we stumble across this cute little creation by Jen Del Muro AKA I{heart}2stamp.  We made a quick run to Hobby Lobby for the bottles and began playing.  We filled ours with m&m's but we also bought red hots to put in some of the others.  How cute it this!  The stamp is one I found in the dollar bin at Michael's.  Notice the baubles!!

I don't know how many of you visit kwernerdesign blog but her blog is definitely worth checking out.  This adorable card was one of her MACM cards.  It's insanely easy!  I don't know the name of the set we used for this card because it was one of Stephany's stamp sets.  I will get the name of the set and post later.  The cardstock is bazzill, twill ribbon is Martha Stewart from Michael's and the ink is Belle Rose Palette.  I used an old Stampin' Up background set for the background watermark.  The set is called Beyond the Basics from SU.

Love you berry much

When I got home yesterday from work, I had a nice little treat on my door step . . .  a box from Papertrey Ink.  I couldn't wait to dig into it but Hayden had other plans!  We have had a solid week of  cold weather and rain here in Houston . . . translation . . .  no outside time all week at school for the kiddos!  Needless to say by Friday, Hayden was bouncing off the walls!  I put him to bed around  8 thinking I would get a little play time in for myself.  Wrong!  What was I thinking, right?  Finally around 11 he passed out but by then, I was too tired to do anything and passed out myself.  So, here I am playing with my new goodies tonight!

While out shopping today, I picked up a few boxes of Necco Sweethearts.  My favorite!  I started tinkering around with a box idea and came up with this.  The instructions (or constructions as Hayden tells me) are here . . . Download pull_box.pdf.

I used bazzill cardstock, My Punny Valentine from Papertrey, Nestabilities, eyeletts and a ball chain to tie off the tag.  The printed cardstock is from the Maybe Baby colletion from Daisyd's.

M&M goodie box

If you've done a lot of blog hoppin' lately, you've probably noticed all the cute candy containers being made, especially with Valentine's Day just around the corner.  I had a couple of inspirations when designing this little box.  The 2-4-6-8 inspired me but also famfullmers' post on SCS . . . she's got a really cute blog too Stamp-a-licious.  She posted the most adorable acetate box for Christmas.  I wanted my box a little smaller than the 2-4-6-8 box so I changed it to be 1.5 in. square vs 2 in. square.  Basically I have made a square tube . . . there is no bottom or top.  Since I wanted to make my top and bottom from cardstock, I did not add the dimensions to the acetate for the bottom and top.  When I first started making this little box, I had all intentions of stamping the little tag but as I got into it, nothing was working for me.  I started digging through my embellishment box and came across these little pewter heart charms that I bought a year and a half ago at the Archiver's in Kansas City.  I knew I'd find a use for them!  Anyway, I pulled out the Cricut and cut scalloped squares for the top of my lid.  I hole punched the center and added an eyelet . . . had to drag out the ol' eyelet setter and hammer for this one . . . the Crop-A-Dile wasn't deep enough to reach the center.  While rummaging through my stash of goodies, I came across this really cute rick rack ribbon, so I trimmed the sides of my top and  bottom with it.  I do believe I am pleased with my little box!  Download mm_acetate_box.pdf  

Love Potion . . .

Back in October or so I posted a candy canister for Halloween.  It was made from a recycled glow bracelet cardboard tube.  Hayden, my four year old, loves glow sticks!  His habit keeps me supplied with these little tubes.  We buy them from the Dollar Tree in the toy section.  They contain 15 bracelets and connectors.  He has me connect two bracelets every night and hang them on his bed post.

The paper was from my stash that I bought WAY earlier this year.  I'm really trying hard to use my good stuff and stop being a "collector".  The paper is from the Cupid collection from Sweetwater Scrapbook.  The Love Potion stamp is from Savvy Stamps colored with Copic, of course.

Stampin' with my friends

Last night was a lot of fun.  I had two of my stampin' buddies over to play and play we did!  As you can see, Jean, Selena and I had a very productive night but best of all we had fun!

The bag on the left is a bag-a-lope and was stamped with the Christmatini stamp from Stamping Bella.  The baubles used on the bag-a-lope and flamingo Christmas card are also from Staming Bella. 

The bag on the right is made from a white lunch sack, trimmed down and backed with a piece of bazzill cardstock cut long enough to fold over and make a flap.

The clear acetate box is from Lauren Meader.  It is her Ghirardelli chocolate gift box.  I didn't have any Ghirardelli's to put in it, so for the time being I filled it with Andes Mints.

The flamingo Christmas card is from TAC as well is the patterned paper.  The pink box up front is the Hershey's Kiss box I posted earlier.  The paper is TAC.  Download kiss_box.pdf
