More organic carrots

I think these little carrots are so cute and fun!  They are from Lockhart Stamp Company and I bought them from Ellen Hutson.  I used my swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on my orange bazzill and layered it over a white card.  I colored my carrots with my Copic markers and I also colored the clear bauble from Michael's with my orange Copic marker.  The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.  It's a wide wired ribbon but I took the wire out.  I really like these colors!

I've been published!

I am so excited!  I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and picked up the latest issue of Stamper's Sampler.  I was doing a quick thumb-through in the store and found one of my cards in the magazine!  I am on page 57.  If you click on the link above and scroll down, my card is under "doodling designs".  It's the "be marvelous" card.  Just had to share!

Lucky Clover

Can you believe we are already in March!  Summer is going to be here before we know it and I'm ready! 

For this little treat project, I used one of the clear stamp containers from TAC that the GWP's come in.  It holds 4 Reeses PB cups perfectly.  I used my 1" circle punch and my 5/8" circle punch.  The clover is from the Limitless Labels from Papertrey Ink, stamped in Palette Landscape.  I cut a piece of green cardstock 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" for the bottom of the container and tied ribbon through the little open at the top of the box.

Doodle Hearts

Elvis is IN the building!!

I was so excited to see the new Elvis stamp line at Cornish Heritage Farms!  I'm still smiling from ear to ear as I post this!  I know I'm probably a dork but really . . . who doesn't love Elvis or at least a song or two of his?  I even did some diggin' in the old cedar chest and found my original concert program and ticket stub from the last concert he performed in Houston.  I wasn't very old but I remember the concert.  My mom and I went.  I still remember how excited I got when they started playing his entrance music!    He died in 1977 so I'm guessing I was somewhere around 8 years old.  My 4 year old son, Hayden, even knows who Elvis is and recognizes his songs.  We like to listen to Elvis Presley: Greatest Jukebox Hits in the car.  Of course, Hayden associates him with Disney's Lilo & Stitch.  I will have to say that the '68 Comeback Elvis is my favorite.  If they come out with a black leather Elvis stamp, that puppy's comin' home with me!

Okay back to the card, for this card I used ivory cardstock and brown bazzill cardstock, stamped Elvis with Java Versamagic ink, embossed "Love me Tender" in gold embossing powder and I used my Aqua Mist satin polka dot ribbon from PTI.  Suspicious Minds is my favorite Elvis song . . . what's yours?   

Organic Carrots

How cool are these carrots!  I found them while browsing blogs the other day and fell in love with them.  I found them on Ellen Hutson's blog.  They are called Organic Carrots and they are by Lockhart Stamp Company.  I used my Nestabilities for this one on ivory c/s.  I colored my image with my copic markers and I added some bella baubles to the bottom of my card.  I left off the sentiment because I wasn't sure what I want it to say just yet.    I'm taking advantage of Hayden passing out before 7 tonight . . . can you tell?

Monogram cards

This is all Papertrey Ink . . . well, almost.  I really like their new line of cardstock, ink and ribbon.  I used Aqua Mist for this card.  I cut and embossed with my Nestabilities and stamped the monogram initial with PTI's Trajan Monogram Edition.  I also used PTI's Borders and Corners Monogram Edition.  I stamped the border and monogram in VersaMagic Java ink.  The background stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Hang loose!

This is a little money holder card I made for my friend's 8 year old little boy . . . I gave him for than $1 but this is all I had left in my purse for the photo.  My inspiration for the card came from the 2008 SU catalog.  The stamp set I used is from TAC and it's called Hang Loose.  I used bazzill c/s and PTI's Spring Moss c/s.  The patterned paper is some old Basic Grey I had hanging around.  For the surf board, I stamped it on a piece of BG and then inked it all over  with VersaMark and then coated it with ultra thick embossing powder.  I embossed it and repeated 2 more times.  It was a hit at Jake's party.  Download money_holder.pdf

My little Hayden had a blast as well.  Jake's party was at a gymnastics/cheer gym by our house.  It was pretty cool stuff.  The kids got to play on all the mats, trampolines, and foam pit.  Here's a picture of Hayden enjoying himself.  The little man was passed out before 7 tonight . . . woo hoo!

It's a piece of cake!!

I think my Nestabilities have been the best investment I've made!  They are so easy to use and are incredibly versatile!  Last night I was browsing my favorite blogs and decided to give Lauren Meader's Nestability basket a try.  What a cute idea, Lauren. TFS.  Anyway, while assembling my basket, I was inspired to make a piece of cake.  After I completed my basket, I threw together a quick prototype to see if my idea would work.  Tonight I put it together for real and this is what I ended up with.  I used the large scalloped rectangle Nestabilites, cutting and embossing 3 to make the cake.  I'll post more detailed instructions later in the week.  I used some of my Basic Grey paper, ribbon and a Hero's Arts stamp set called Birthday Messages.  The back of the cake is cut out of a piece of brown Basic Grey paper that came in the package.  It kind of gives it a chocolate frosting feel, and I used pink for the sides.  I filled my piece of cake with strawberry milkshake flavored Whoppers and chocolate Whoppers . . . a few managed to make it into my mouth!  YUM!

Happy Easter

Can you believe that Easter is just around the corner!  Saturday I made a quick trip to Archiver's and picked up a few Easter goodies.  Both of these stamps are from Stampendous in the $1.99 bin.  I used ivory cardstock and bazzill, my Nestabilities and my new paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I colored the images with my Copic markers.  The ribbon is from Papertrey.

While shopping at Archiver's I also picked up a couple of St. Patrick's Day stamps and will post something soon . . . I hope.  I've actually been stamping but I just haven't posted.  I think I'm kinda in a slump and not 100% happy with a few of my projects.  We've all been there, right?
